The line in your blog which jumped out at me was, "There is no lobby for the homeless". You are right when you say displacing these people will not solve the problem. Like you, I would love to see the day when these people are acknowledged as valid human beings who need a hand. Instead they are vilified as criminals and addicts who brought their problems on themselves. People think they will never end up in their position. That's what many of the people on the streets today thought. Compassion is what is needed, as well as more people like you who care about someone other than themselves.
